NEW INTRO

After a thorough revision in 2021, 2022 Hyundai Santa Fecarries over relatively unchanged for 2022. Nineteen-inch wheels are no longer available on the Calligraphy trim, and an upcoming XRT trim will bridge the gap between SEL and Limited. A plug-in hybrid model also joins the lineup.

INTERIOR AND CARGO

Usually, interior space in a midsize SUV is a compromise, as some models sacrifice second-row legroom for cargo space behind the rear seats, and vice versa. The Santa Fe manages to strike a balance between the two, as it’s only slightly less capacious than the larger Ford Edge, and much roomier than the Mazda CX-5 in all dimensions.

Cargo space (behind first/second rows):

  • 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe: 72.1/36.4 cubic feet
  • 2022 Ford Edge: 73.4/39.2 cubic feet
  • 2022 Mazda CX-5: 59.6/30.9 cubic feet
  • 2022 Toyota RAV4: 59.0/39.4 cubic feet
  • 2022 Subaru Forester: 74.3/31.1 cubic feet

Legroom (first/second rows):

  • 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe: 44.1/41.7 inches
  • 2022 Ford Edge: 42.6/40.6 inches
  • 2022 Mazda CX-5: 41.0/39.6 inches
