INTERIOR
There’s just no good substitute for experiencing a vehicle in person. Sometimes, it’s only when you’re with a car that you’ll see a feature available on two different cars that is executed better on one than the other. Having said that, we’re impressed by a few upgrades that will be available on the 2022 Outlander.
Aside from the available head-up display, the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander will also offer a 360-degree camera parking system, semi-aniline leather, real aluminum trim, and 20-inch wheels.

FUEL AND PERFORMANCE
The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander is optimized more toward the value side of the midsize SUV segment. The standard engine is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated I-4 with 181 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque. FWD will be standard and a multi-mode AWD system will be available. In our First Test of an AWD model, the Outlander reached 60 mph in 8.6 seconds.
Fuel economy numbers read 24/30-31 mpg city/highway. The last-gen Outlander’s available V-6 isn’t offered anymore, but a future 2022 or 2023 Outlander Plug-In may provide the additional power boost some customers want.
As before, a CVT automatic transmission is standard.
