The Northern Star Yacht is an explorer yacht, currently under construction at Lurssen as Project Icecap. The 109m (357ft) yacht will be delivered to her owner in 2022.

This is the 3rd Northern Star Yacht built at Lurssen for John Risley. The first was a 63-meter built-in 2005. The second was a 76 meter, built-in 2009. Before that he used to own a 37-meter motor sailor, built at Palmer Johnson. He was also the owner of the Huisman-built sailing yacht Meteor.

The 110m/360’11” expedition yacht ‘Northern Star’ (ex. Icecap) was built by Shackleton. Northern Star Yacht has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 22 guests in 11 suites comprising four VIP cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 30 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Northern Star Yacht is built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. Powered by 3 x Wartsila (9L20) 9-cylinder 2,692hp engines, she reaches a maximum speed of 24 knots.

Northern Star Yacht features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels. She was built to DNV (Det Norske Veritas) classification society rules. Her features include a dancefloor, steam room, beauty salon, underwater lights, elevator, beach club, and air conditioning.
