Kia Set To Start EV9 Production in 2023

Kia EV9 SUV: Europe is rumored to be the first to get a production version of the Kia EV9 SUV when it launched in 2023, according to a press release on Kia’s U.K. media site. Although the company didn’t say anything about a U.S. version, we believe that the EV9 will eventually make it to our shores, too.

Apart from confirming production for the European market, Kia hasn’t revealed any more details about the upcoming Kia EV9 SUV. We already knew that it’ll share components with the Hyundai Ioniq 7, which was also revealed last year. Both Kia and Hyundai’s big EV SUVs will be based on a stretched version of the e-GMP platform that underpins the much smaller Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Kia has claimed that the Kia EV9 SUV will have 300 miles of range on a full battery and a max charging rate of 350 kilowatts. We can only speculate at the moment, but we think the U.S. version will arrive for the 2024 model year and start around $50,000.
