The 2024 Kia Seltos comes with a thoroughly modified dashboard to accommodate the pair of 10.25-inch screens sitting side by side. The chunky gear lever is now a thing of the past as it has been replaced by a rotary switch, which is still flanked by several buttons as before. Kia also tweaked the HVAC controls, but honestly, we’re glad they’re still there and have not been swallowed by the infotainment.
In typical Hyundai/Kia/Genesis fashion, the reveal today is only about the visual changes. Full technical specifications will be disclosed next month when the 2024 Seltos will be exhibited at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea. As before, the model won’t come to Europe where Kia has the similarly sized Xceed slotting above the smaller Stonic.
Despite the styling overhaul, the 2024 Kia Seltos will likely remain a fairly affordable option. We expect trim levels to mirror that of the 2023 model, but with slightly higher prices and possibly a reshuffling of options. It is unknown yet whether or not all-wheel drive will remain a standard feature.
INTERIOR, CONVENIENCE, AND BOOTH
Inside, the 2024 Kia Seltos offer noticeably more space for people and cargo than the Hyundai Kona. The materials used throughout the cabin are well chosen and refined enough to seem right at home in the showroom next to the brand’s excellent Telluride SUV. Interior ambient lighting is standard on the upscale SX model and can be set to pulse along with the music like the system Kia offers in the smaller Soul SUV.
During our test drive of the pre-facelift model, the cargo area easily swallowed our suitcases, backpacks, and photo bag; in our testing, we fit eight carry-on suitcases in the cargo hold and 20 with the rear seats folded. We expect the Seltos’s cargo-carrying capability to be unchanged for the 2024 model year.
IN-VEHICLE INFOTAINMENT NAD INTERCONNECTIONS
From photos, we can see that the 2024 Kia Seltos’s infotainment setup has drastically changed for 2024, with a new seamless panel stretching two-thirds of the dashboard serving as both a digital gauge display and infotainment touchscreen. This arrangement is similar to the offerings of other modern Kia models and we expect to see Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and an on-board wi-fi hotspot.
