Al Mirqab Yacht is owned by Qatar’s former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani. Al Mirqab Yacht was built at Peters Schiffbau Wewelsfleth yard in Germany. The yacht’s architect was Tim Heywood, while the interior design was done by Andrew Winch Designs
A grand staircase floats through four floors and surrounds suspended glass artwork by Dale Chihuly. Al Mirqab Yacht won Motor Yacht of the Year at the World Superyacht Awards 2009 and Best Interior Design among motor yachts. She can accommodate 60 guests and is manned by an equal number of crew.
She is powered by 4 Wärtsila diesel-electric engines. Which brings her a top speed of 18 knots. Her cruising speed is 14 knots. Her range is more than 5,000nm.
